Strength

Strength: tarot card meaning

gentle strength, patience, courage

The inner beast is not calmed by repression but by acknowledgment: what you dislike in yourself is also you, and it is stronger while in exile. The strongest person in the room is usually the calmest, not the loudest.

Meaning

Strength is the card of power without violence. You do not defeat the lion — you tame it, and the difference is total: the beaten beast waits for revenge, the tamed one becomes an ally. This applies to outer lions (difficult people, conflicts) and inner ones (anger, fear, passion): what is repressed fights back; what is acknowledged can serve you.

How it shows up

It can be a person nearby whom pressure will not convince — only patience will. It can be a situation that asks for endurance: not a hard tug, but steady, gentle pressure. Work with animals may appear, literally. It can be your moment to calmly settle what shouting could not.

Love

It can be a conflict that settles better with tenderness than with argument. It can point to a “strong-willed” partner: not remade by pressure, only by acceptance plus firm limits. It can herald intense passion — the question is who is holding the reins. With the Devil beside it, the passion needs boundaries: there is strength to keep them.

Work and money

It can be a difficult client, a combative colleague, a stalled negotiation — resolved with confidence and no aggression. The card may ask you to hold on without letting go: patience now literally pays — don't move what you've invested.

Health

Vital forces recover. Heart and back — areas to watch: what you "shoulder" and "take to heart" settles right there. Healing comes through accepting the body, not fighting it.

Reversed

Weak will, giving in out of fear, self-doubt. Or repressed aggression that erupts at the wrong time and against the wrong target. Shadow: cruelty dressed up as firmness, the pleasure of power over the weak.

Yes or no

Yes — but through patience and endurance, not a burst.

Timing

Gradually, as the situation is tamed; Leo season (late July — August).

Advice

Strength is not in the push but in calm confidence.

Symbolism

The woman in white closes — or opens — the lion's jaws with bare hands. The lion is not tied: it lets itself be touched, and that is the whole card. Above her head, the same infinity sign as the Magician's: the inexhaustible source, but the tool is not the wand — it is gentleness.
